Hello everyone,
Our plot slopes down from street level by almost 1.80m (6 feet). Please see the image below (each square corresponds to 1 meter (3 feet)).
Now to my question: Could you share your opinions on whether you would prefer a basement or to raise the ground level? Since we want to position the house as close to the street as possible, it’s not clear if opting for a basement is the best solution here. The plot is somewhat “in between” in this regard.
Thank you in advance.

Should the ground floor be at street level, or can it be lower?
Assuming you start building the house 3m (10 feet) away from the street at -0.61m (-2 feet) and construct a house with a depth of 10m (33 feet) at -1.05m (-3.4 feet), you only need to compensate for 44 cm (17 inches).
However, if the ground floor should be at street level, you would add 0.61m (2 feet) of fill in the front and 1.05m (3.4 feet) in the back. In the rear area, about 1m (3.3 feet) of height would allow for a window band in the basement, making it possible to use the space as living areas such as a guest room, office, or hobby room.
