What costs are you expecting for your house or have you come up with?
(Calculation method: euro construction costs / sqm (square meters) of living space = xy).

Please consider "pure" house costs only, meaning:
  • House with basement/slab foundation
  • Including technical installations
  • Including floors and walls
  • Excluding land, driveway, landscaping, garage, terrace, additional building fees

Thank you for sharing your estimates!

And others get frustrated because it was expensive; that’s life, and the comparison has its justification.

No matter what you want to compare. What really matters is that you enjoy living in your house and remain financially secure—whether it’s 1690 or 4000€ per square meter.

Sure, it’s not about upsetting anyone. But I think it’s useful to know what’s possible and that it doesn’t always have to be the commonly quoted figures (which are safer to rely on, and for that reason a superficial comparison is helpful).

That is so superficial – architecture, features, and location are not taken into account. Just whether a house has a cellar or not makes the comparison absurd.
None of this is mentioned in the survey.

It actually is mentioned in the opening post.

But the survey is rubbish. Our house was expensive, yet under the thread conditions it would have cost 1800/m2 (167 sq ft).

Exclusive windows, high-quality floor and wall coverings, spa and bathroom, acoustic ceilings... easily add up to a thousand per square meter (10.8 per square foot) difference. And that’s without any “smart” features or considering the site.
