What costs are you expecting for your house or have you come up with?
(Calculation method: euro construction costs / sqm (square meters) of living space = xy).

Please consider "pure" house costs only, meaning:
  • House with basement/slab foundation
  • Including technical installations
  • Including floors and walls
  • Excluding land, driveway, landscaping, garage, terrace, additional building fees

Thank you for sharing your estimates!

I just recalculated my house, and instead of 1800 I ended up with 2500. It depends on what I include.
What exactly did you change or include? It was quite clear what the original poster wanted in or not.

Okay, a few questions:
- Is the basement counted as living space? This has a big impact on the divisor.
- Exclude the garage, but I don’t know how much it cost since it was included in the total offer.
- What should be excluded under additional construction costs?

There are more questions—everyone seems to do it differently here in their answers.

And the year of construction has rightly been mentioned many times already.

I selected less than 1600. Reason: We installed a lot of electrical work ourselves and completed entire trades (plumbing, heating, electrical, etc.) entirely on our own.

Self-performed work must be accounted for in such comparisons.
After all, it’s about a house you can actually move into. Not a shell, not a partially finished home, no matter who completes it.
A house that is finished and ready to occupy!

And just like that, the survey results become distorted.

That was exactly what I intended to express with my post.

I see it differently. Instead of paying more money, you invested time. This is a legitimate way to save money and reduce the credit limit. So financially, your house costs you less, although it takes more time. I don’t see anything wrong with stating the price you actually paid.

Folks, this is a poll in an online forum, not a clinical study.
