Hello,

I would appreciate it if people with floor-to-ceiling windows (fixed pane at the bottom) could share how you have dressed your windows from the inside. Do you use only internal venetian blinds and/or curtains or sliding panels, or something else?

Thank you!

@tomtom79

Great, thanks. That’s exactly what I had in mind to get a better idea.

Since your dining set is visible there, how much clearance do you have (as shown in the picture) between the window/door and each side—that is, along the long and short sides? And when the chairs are in use, how much space is left then?

@Nordlys

Karsten, I was less concerned about the colors and more about the type of window treatment.

No. We look out, no one looks in.

It might be worth mentioning, as you can also see in toms’ picture, that due to the roller shutter/blind boxes, installation usually needs to be done into the ceiling. This means mounting above the window into the wall is generally not possible.

@Andre77 there is a rule of thumb for that, it was posted here once, something starting from 110 cm (43 inches). It also takes the chair shape into account, but I reduced it a bit back then; that would work for us too, but now there are flowers standing there...

Just regular curtains. We had sliding curtains in our previous house, but I can’t stand them anymore. Personally, I find curtains very important for room acoustics, especially since we otherwise have a rather clean style...

@Tomtom: Exactly the same lamp hangs above our kitchen island, great taste 😊
