It would be great if some of you could share pictures of your terraces. With so many options available, it can be difficult to make a decision.

What materials and colors did you choose, and why? What has your experience been like after 5 years or more? How large is your terrace? What did you pay for it? Have you incorporated any features such as umbrella stands, raised garden beds, or similar elements? Did you do the work yourselves? Do you know any reliable suppliers for materials that you would recommend? What would you do differently next time?

There are surely many other homeowners who would appreciate photos and tips. Thanks in advance!

What a mess! OBI just canceled our delivery of patio slabs! We picked them out back in September and specifically asked if they would still be available in October – "yeah, no problem."
Now we need them, and surprise: they’re no longer available.

Since the builders are already measuring, we can’t delay any longer and urgently need an alternative. Does anyone know where around Leipzig there’s still a large selection of patio slabs? We have already checked OBI and Hornbach and would consider choosing from there if necessary. But none of the options really excited me. We also don’t want to spend more than about 40 EUR / m² (approximately 4.00 USD / ft²). Any tips?

Ours is from the Hornbach store... but had to be specially ordered. Pictures are earlier in the thread... now also available in 90x90 cm (35x35 inches) for 32 per square meter.

Thanks, I’ll take another look. That dark batik-like pattern isn’t quite my style, but in the end it does look very good.

What about BayWa and so on? There are plenty of building material suppliers there, as well as a concrete plant... don’t just look at the hardware store. And on eBay Classifieds, there are often items being given away for free. You just have to like what’s available at the moment.

BayWa – we will see, thank you!
