Hello everyone,
We are currently building and need to decide on windows. We will have external venetian blinds on the ground floor.
We have two offers.
Offer 1: External venetian blinds will be installed in builder-installed blind boxes.
Offer 2: External venetian blinds are mounted directly on the window.
Which option is better in terms of quality?

I find glass-integrated solutions particularly interesting because they keep heat out while also being protected from the weather. The only downside is that they are difficult to repair.
We received the following statement from a window manufacturer:
“The window is still expanding. If the roller shutter box is mounted directly on the window in this case (e.g., Roma, external roller shutter), the box would shift or require additional space above, which could cause cracks due to the movement.”
This statement naturally makes us think. However, it’s also possible that the window manufacturer is simply trying to discredit his competitor (at the same location) because he knows that he offers this type of roller shutter.

The window is still expanding. On public holidays in Catholic federal states, during a full moon. That sounds a bit far-fetched. Many suppliers choose one method and then criticize the other, often with overly simplistic "arguments."

Which option is better in terms of quality? Counter question: what was originally specified in the planning?

Thank you, hampshire and 11ant.
Counter question: What was originally planned?

We still have the option to implement both. Based on our gut feeling, we would probably choose the permanently mounted option on the window, as long as there are no reasons against it.
