Hello everyone,
We are currently building and need to decide on windows. We will have external venetian blinds on the ground floor.
We have two offers.
Offer 1: External venetian blinds will be installed in builder-installed blind boxes.
Offer 2: External venetian blinds are mounted directly on the window.

Which option is better in terms of quality?

We still have the option to realize both. However, based on gut feeling, we would rather choose the ones permanently mounted to the window, assuming there are no reasons against this.

So, you are still at the stage where you can freely decide between the ring beam / lintel / roller shutter box options—whether the vacation should be by the sea or in the mountains?
For a new build, I would—provided that this does not require rewriting the whole plan for the ring beam and lintel—recommend positioning the external venetian blind boxes in the same location where the other windows on the same floor have their roller shutter boxes. Regarding this, I would clearly tell the planner (and hopefully the construction manager) that "it does not matter" is the wrong answer—because, just like with wall materials, each contractor has their own preference and experience with one option or the other, and it is usually not advisable to choose the alternative.
For other contributors, it might also be helpful to know whether we are talking about an ETICS (external thermal insulation composite system) facade, or a plaster or brick veneer facade.
