Hello, I am currently working on building a double garage. Now I need to find out how high the lintel for my garage door needs to be.

Door size 2.125m x 5.000m (7 ft 0 in x 16 ft 5 in)

I would appreciate any help.

I currently have a rough construction height of 2.27m (7 ft 5½ in)... so I wanted to add a 30cm (12 inch) lintel on top.
That means 212.5cm (7 ft) up to the start of the lintel plus 13.5cm (5¼ inch)... that should be enough. My roof will be a standard box construction with roofing felt.

The bottom edge of the lintel must be at 2125mm (83.5 inches). Otherwise, how do you plan to fill the gap?

Or are we talking past each other?

Talking past each other... The lintel for the facing bricks/clinker comes from outside at 212.5cm (84 inches).... inside, I have to cast the lintel including the ring beam....

Good morning, I looked for a picture of our garage.

The drive-through height is exactly 2125 mm (83.7 inches).

If you want to add cladding and need to raise the lintel, please check if the Hörmann track is suitable.

My gate should be positioned behind the opening and I would lean towards a Z-hinge.

Here I read 11.3cm (4.4 inches) stop upwards
