Alexa, only over my dead body—this house will remain largely free of technology

I’m not quite sure about this. Is RealKNX better or worse in voice recognition compared to SyOhr?It doesn’t really matter. Both are worlds away from Google and similar services.
Synohr is a device that was launched almost 8 years ago. I think it’s fair to appreciate the developer from back then because Synohr remains a pioneer. I don’t dispute at all that Alexa and similar systems work far better today.
If you want offline voice control nowadays, there are definitely much better options. For realKNX, we chose to integrate "Snips." When it comes to commands for building automation, Snips is certainly on a comparable level to the major voice assistants. Additionally, we have the flexibility to adapt the voice commands to our application. There are no words that Snips couldn’t learn. Dear Stephen, why don’t you name one of your rooms "Weisswurstzimmer" and then turn on the "Händelmeier Senf" lamp? My Alexa doesn’t understand that.

I also have lamps named “Small Cloud” or “Behind TV Stand.”
Everything is perfectly recognized by both Alexa and Google Assistant (I have tested both).
As long as you pronounce Weißwurst in standard German, Alexa understands it too...

I just ordered a second Alexa device to use for playing music in the kitchen. I’ve also programmed the most important appointments and the kids’ class schedules... all set. I still control the lights and blinds manually. I’m fine with Jeff now knowing when my older child has sports practice and that I like listening to Roland Kaiser.
In return, I’m giving up all the other unnecessary stuff like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
