Is there no window at all on the east side, which is on the right side of the plan, in the living area?
It will probably get darker mainly because of the projecting neighboring apartment on the west side.
I myself have an east/south-facing open-plan living area (dining/kitchen/living). My east-facing terrace is covered with a depth of 360 cm (140 inches). In summer this is pleasant, in winter the sun is low enough that sunlight even reaches my east terrace door.
It would also be important to know what is located at what distance on the south side? And which floor is the apartment on? And how tall is the building to the south? Thank you very much for your reply.
Currently, there is no window facing east. However, we will try to have that implemented.
To the south, a single-family house with a maximum of two full stories (ground floor + one floor) is planned. This will probably be about 20 m (65 feet) away.
Our apartment will be on the ground floor. On the east side, there are some very tall but semi-transparent trees in autumn at a distance of 7 m (23 feet).

What do the others think? There are already some floor-to-ceiling windows. So far, I have no experience with such apartments because I have always lived on upper floors.

It would be too dark for me. No need to think twice about the ground floor I agree, not only because of the less sunny ground-level location. It’s really cool, the ground floor where almost every elevator ride starts or ends, and then you have the bedroom right next to the shaft. But also because the patio is easily accessible for burglars without a ladder, which isn’t great.
