Getting paid for perfect designs that the client already provides. Thanks, that was exactly the typical programmer’s answer, of course. My sincerest apologies, my question should have been grammatically correct: "Which profession has this* architect trained for and is actually practicing?" 🙂
*) for programmers: referring back to the architect who approves the design

More like labeling poor designs and praising the client so they don't back out. The rubber-stamp person doesn't have to live in it.

So what. Customer happy, architect richer, all good, who cares if Yvonne likes the design. That’s life. KarstenSorry, Karsten, but that doesn’t matter at all. I don’t like many things – that doesn’t mean it’s bad.
The design has to work.
