ᐅ Conduit for TV installation in a Ytong (aerated concrete) wall

Hi,

we want to mount the TV on the aerated concrete wall (11.5cm (4.5 inches)) in the living room without visible cables. For this, we plan to install an empty conduit ourselves. Has anyone done this before? Using a hammer and chisel should be feasible, but is it advisable with Ytong blocks? We would then get a 40mm (1.6 inches) flexible conduit / empty pipe from the hardware store, install two flush-mount boxes at the top and bottom, and cover the area with plaster before the interior plasterers come to fully finish the walls later.

Does anyone have advice on whether this approach is okay?

Best regards

@ypg Yes, construction is currently underway. The electrician is scheduled to come next. Therefore, there won't be any interior plaster. I think 150 EUR for an empty conduit is quite expensive.
I actually don't want anything on the wall. It might become a stone wall with a lowboard and the TV mounted on the wall. However, at that spot, we only have an 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) wall (non-load-bearing) and can't chisel too deep.

I would recommend installing sockets in accessible locations.

Uploading photos with Tapatalk works very well: just press the + button on the left and select a photo from the gallery. Set the upload size to medium.

@ypg Power outlets alone are not enough. There is at least one HDMI cable and, for smart TVs, an Ethernet cable that you don’t want to have hanging in front of the wall (between the TV and the media console). I got an empty conduit and will install it there.

Just install an outlet at the right height from the start, why bother with a conduit?

I would reconsider that. HDMI cables can actually break. Also, who says HDMI is the ultimate solution?

Do you just want to pull the cables through the conduit, or at least install proper outlets?
