Matthias 4023 Mar 2019 11:17Hello everyone,
The shell construction is progressing quickly, and my questions are piling up.
I will have an exposed concrete wall on the ground floor serving as a room divider between the kitchen and living room.
On the living room side, there will be many power outlets and TV/network connections. The wall is scheduled to be poured next week, and today my electrician asked me to mark the required heights for the connections.
Now I need your help with two questions:
What height should the connection for the television be installed at (a minimum 55-inch TV is planned to be wall-mounted)?
At what height should the other power outlets be installed or cast in? These should be hidden behind a standard TV sideboard.
Thanks and have a great weekend!

The bottom edge of the TV is at 1 meter (3 ft 3 in), but I would simply install a flush-mounted conduit from the lowboard to the TV.
This means placing all power outlets behind the lowboard so they can be hidden inside it. Then, run the cables from the lowboard through the conduit to the TV.
If the lowboard is wall-mounted, I would set the bottom edge at 30 cm (12 in).

Matthias 4024 Mar 2019 16:09Hello Iven,
Thank you very much for your help! I was thinking of 1.60m (5 feet 3 inches) for the outlet height for the TV on the wall, which should correspond to 1m (3 feet 3 inches) for the bottom edge of the TV. Just as you described, I want to set it up with a lowboard. I have one more question: do you mean the bottom edge of the outlets when you say 30cm (12 inches) bottom edge?

30cm (12 inches) clearance below the lowboard, meaning the power outlets should be placed at 45/50cm (18/20 inches) so they sit flush within the board. Make sure to install an in-wall conduit, especially for the PlayStation, AV receiver, external hard drive, LAN cables, etc.
So the bottom edge of the TV is about 1 meter (3.3 ft) plus 0.8 meter (2.6 ft) for the height of the TV. So you have a range between 1.0 and 1.8 meters (3.3 and 5.9 ft)!
But I would place everything at the height of the light switches, which should also be around 1.0 to 1.1 meters (3.3 to 3.6 ft)!
