Hello,

we have only attended our first construction consultation to get a quote.

The only differences are no conservatory, an air-to-water heat pump, and a carport with an extended roof along the length of 8m (26 feet).

The total price for this would be a hefty 215,000 euros.

What interests me now, and where I’m not entirely confident, is why this house is so expensive. A couple of friends built a similar house, brick by brick, for 180,000 euros.

Best regards & thanks

Well, I thought we would settle around €190,000 (about $205,000), but I didn’t expect €215,000 (about $232,000).
Attached is a supplementary sheet.

Here is an attachment.

There isn’t really any useful information in it!

And from when to when did you wait for the building permit / planning permission?
Approval exemption, zoning plan area. Waiting time was 3 weeks after confirmation of the completeness of the documents (5 days).

What you get for EUR 215 is not listed in the construction service description like in a brochure! You urgently need professional help to evaluate the offer!

Fingerhaus actually provides a very good construction and specification document.
It is definitely not the sheet attached above, but rather a small folder.

I received a construction and specification document during my very first meeting.

My construction and specification document from November is probably no longer valid since, as of March 1, 2016, both the prices and the scope of services (e.g., wall structure/insulation) were changed.
Perhaps that is why the sales consultant does not yet have the updated construction and specification document available.

You should definitely address this with the sales consultant.

If they cannot provide it to you, it is pointless to proceed further.
You need to know exactly what is included and what is not—completely.

I can only confirm that the construction and service description is significantly more detailed and customer-friendly. We also received it immediately, actually from every provider we contacted. If a provider is unwilling to provide it, look for another one.
