Hello,
I am new to the forum and would like to greet everyone.
We are currently having a semi-detached house built and are unsure about the wall covering. We were recommended paintable fleece wallpaper.
I have a question regarding its durability: How many times can paintable fleece wallpaper be painted over? Is it the same as with textured wallpaper?
Also, does paintable fleece wallpaper eventually become as easy to remove from the wall as standard non-woven wallpaper? What quantity would be needed for each option?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Markus

Our screed was installed on January 22nd/23rd with an additive, and the tilers started on January 28th. It was hard work for them because they could only ventilate very carefully, and the heat pump’s heating program was switched on January 26th. A very ambitious schedule, but the developer is responsible for any tiles that crack, as they are also using their own tilers.
This coming weekend marks the start of our 10-day time window for painting work – starting with painter’s fleece on the ceilings to go back to the original thread. The walls will be covered with Erfurt Flaxx 100 non-woven wallpaper.
I’m curious if there will be enough time for some additional filling, sanding, priming, and wallpapering... We will probably only manage to paint later. The move-in date is March 15th.

I also installed about 200 sqm (2,150 sq ft) of fleece ceiling covering together with my father. After a few strips, it goes quite well—you get the hang of the adhesive technique and consistency, and we managed to apply everything without gaps or seams. It was important for us to coat both the ceiling and the fleece with adhesive, as the ceiling still absorbed quite a bit despite using a primer. We built a sort of platform from a ladder platform and chairs, which allowed us to apply long strips in one piece. Before attaching the first strip, we used a laser to project a straight line onto the ceiling and then traced it with a pencil.
We started relatively soon after the screed was laid, without much time pressure, but since I didn’t have time off work, I could only work evenings and weekends. Despite the high humidity, nearly two years later all the fleece is still firmly attached to the ceiling.
On most walls, we also used Erfurt fleece wallpaper (I prefer having something under the paint), and I no longer even think about the quantities. If you want to finish walls and ceilings within 10 days, you really have to keep up the pace—depending on how much help you have. The best approach is always a two-person team: one applies the adhesive, the other smooths it out.

Anhydrite or cement screed?

EveundGerd, which Komar photo wallpaper do you have, and could you possibly send me a photo of it?
We are also considering getting a photo wallpaper from Komar, but I’m worried it might not look as nice...
By the way, we have been debating for months whether to plaster the walls, cover them with fiberglass fleece and paint, or just wallpaper them. We still haven’t made a decision.
