Hello to all users/readers of the house-building forum,

Here is some information from the Pulheim expo: WK II is now called RC 2

For new constructions and renovations, installing certified burglar-resistant doors according to DIN EN 1627 (at least resistance class [RC] 2) provides good protection against break-ins. These doors undergo practical burglary testing to ensure that there are no weak points in the overall construction (door leaf, frame, lock, and fittings). This means the door unit is manufactured as a complete, unified system.

Resistance Classes

Burglar-resistant doors are divided into six resistance classes [RC 1 - RC 6], with RC 6 representing the highest level of protection. Doors with resistance class RC 2 or higher are recommended. Equivalent doors tested according to the previous standard valid until September 2011, DIN V Energy Regulation 1627, are also accepted.

The assignment of the individual resistance classes can be approximated by the following table:

"new" DIN EN 1627
RC2
RC3
RC4
RC5
RC6

"old" DIN V Energy Regulation 1627
WK 2
WK 3
WK 4
WK 5
WK 6

usually sufficient for private use

Best regards
