I also don’t like the splashing when you fall in. ops: That’s where American toilets have an advantage, as the water level is almost up to the seat and the drop height isn’t as high. I wonder how these different systems developed.
My mother taught us from a young age to put paper on the terrace toilet seat, so it’s not an issue for children.

We have two Keramag icon toilets installed: one in the guest bathroom and one in the master bathroom. Both have the soft-close seat (never going back without it). There’s no splashing (neither during nor after flushing) and no strange noises caused by the drop height.
I would definitely choose these again every time!
If you’re considering any sort of coating treatment: don’t bother! I had it in my previous house, and it’s just a waste of money. It works well at first, but with mechanical wear (I’m talking about the brush here, before anyone gets odd ideas), it wears off. After that, the mess is worse than anything else.

Oh right, yes, that’s true, never again without!
Maybe I should put up instructions in my bathroom:
Before using the toilet: place toilet paper on the terrace!
After using the toilet: just tap the toilet seat, don’t press it down! Seriously. All of ours are broken...
