Hey. There are so many topics with so many different types of flooring. I would really like to know which ones you use and how you manage with them. I mean, for example: living areas (living room, office, bedrooms), kitchen, bathroom.

Because I’m currently thinking about which floorings we should get when we eventually buy or build a house. I’d really be interested to hear.

Best regards 🙂 abelwagn

Yes, I also prefer a neutral floor covering. This way, you have the flexibility to change the overall look according to your style with suitable furnishings.

I have real wood parquet flooring throughout. Only the bathroom and toilet are tiled.

We approached this topic from a practical perspective. The entire ground floor was fully tiled. Firstly, because of the benefits related to the underfloor heating, and secondly, because it is easy to clean and maintain. This area experiences the most foot traffic, and even if moisture or dirt is brought in through the patio door, it isn’t a problem.

In the bedrooms upstairs, especially the children's rooms, we installed affordable laminate flooring, which I’m not too worried about having to replace in a few years once the kids have grown out of the roughest phase.

Hi,
Don’t put the cart before the horse. We made the decision about the flooring relatively late. The kitchen and bathroom have tiles. The rooms are fitted with parquet, and the hallways have laminate.

Kitchen, bathroom, utility room, and hallway will have tiles, with vinyl flooring in the rest of the house. Vinyl flooring has the advantage of being less cold underfoot than tiles, yet it has better heat conduction than hardwood or similar materials, which is beneficial when used with underfloor heating.
