ᐅ Where to position the house on the plot? Two options are possible!

Hello everyone,

we are about to choose our home builder, but we haven’t quite decided where to place the house yet. I have summarized all the information in the graphic below. The two options are marked in yellow and blue.

There are neighbors’ gardens to the left, right, and at the back, so we would have an open view in those directions. The house on the front lot is an older building with 2 1/2 stories.

What do you think? I have added the cardinal directions to the image.

I prefer the yellow option, as it offers more garden space on the west side.

That’s true. But that also means a longer distance to the house.

It certainly isn’t a developer if you already own the land.

And its garage will be demolished to divide and provide access to your plot?

I "vote" for yellow (more west-facing garden); the garage doesn’t have to be that far back.

Yes, the garage has already been demolished. The driveway is 4.5m (15 feet) wide. That’s correct, it’s developer-free. Currently, we are leaning more towards blue with a corner terrace facing southeast. This way, we would also have an unobstructed view of our garden and no houses directly overlooking us. And at 35°C (95°F) in summer, having coffee on the terrace is certainly more comfortable in the shade.

Neither, place it centered! The plot is large enough for that.
