ᐅ Where do you usually buy your plants and greenery? Any experiences or tips?

M4rvinVery different types, so we have:
- Trees (magnolia) from the internet
- Trees (apple, pear, oleander (okay, not a tree)) from a "nursery"
- But also shrubs (currant, etc.) from discount stores or garden centers
For me, it would depend a lot on the exact type. But especially with the fruit shrubs, we have had very good experiences with those from discount stores.

I order everything online because otherwise, we would have to drive over an hour. I have had very good experiences with Baumschule Horstmann. They offer nice quality at a reasonable price.
A bit cheaper but often smaller and less robust is pflanzmich. I like to buy there when I only need seedlings but in large quantities.
Very decent quality also came from Eggert Pflanzenhandel. Out of 80 shrubs, only one did not take root, which was probably my fault.
We bought roses from Agel-Rosen and Rosenpark Dräger – both completely fine with no losses.
Where I was somewhat disappointed is Baldur Garten. I bought four small sets for balcony boxes there. These plants were priced normally, but in a store, I would have received at least twice the plant size.
Overall, it can be said that online plant retailers put a lot of effort into their work, and the price-to-performance ratio is almost always good. No one can afford to send poor-quality goods, as this immediately affects their reviews.

We purchased our hornbeam hedge from _pflanzmich_. The price was reasonable, and their customer service was accommodating. However, I am not satisfied – the different deliveries (we ordered in two stages) do not match. The follow-up delivery, which was made because some plants didn’t arrive, was planted much further along the hedge than the others and looks different (not as dense in growth).
I bought fruit and specialty plants like kiwi from _Lubera_. Not because of the price, but because of their unique selection.
There is supposedly a Dutch supplier that many people have praised.
Otherwise, we like to visit garden centers, but for substantial, structural trees, there are many specialized nurseries nearby. We don’t buy anything over 30€ (about $33) from garden centers or similar places.
I do watch for bargains on the smaller plants.
