Hello everyone,
Next week, we will continue with the electrical work. A KNX wiring system would be ideal, but unfortunately, it’s no longer within the budget. So, for some added convenience, I have come up with the following combinations for now. “Only” the shutter switches and room temperature controllers for the time being. I’ll share my idea for the light switches later.
Could someone please take a look and see if I’ve missed anything important? I’m not concerned about the “small parts” right now.
Shutter Switches
Room Temperature Controllers
I am still a bit unsure here. What exactly do I need to implement the following controller?
I’m stuck here at the moment. We want to be able to control the light switches remotely as well (on/off). The light switches should also have a dimmer function. So far, I have found the following, which should point in the right direction:
Thank you all!
Best regards,
Stefan

Shutter Switches
- Busch-Jaeger 6411U/S-101 Busch Shutter Control II Insert (Item number: 6410-0-0379)
- Busch-Jaeger 6455 Comfort Timer Control Panel 6455-101 (Item number: 6410-0-0397)
- Busch-Jaeger 6435-214 Central Cover Plate (Item number: 6430-0-0402)
Room Temperature Controllers
I am still a bit unsure here. What exactly do I need to implement the following controller?
- Busch-Jaeger 1098 UF-101 Electronic Room Temperature Controller Insert (Item number: 1032-0-0509). This is the version with an external remote sensor. How do I know if this is necessary?
- Busch-Jaeger 6435-214 Central Cover Plate (Item number: 6430-0-0402)
- Busch-Jaeger 6164/10-101 Thermoelectric Actuator with Function Indicator 6164/10-101 (Item number: 6164/10-101)
I’m stuck here at the moment. We want to be able to control the light switches remotely as well (on/off). The light switches should also have a dimmer function. So far, I have found the following, which should point in the right direction:
- IR Control Panel with Label, Illuminated (Item number: 6066-24-102)
Thank you all!
Best regards,
Stefan

Hello Stefan,
I'm not an expert. I would guess that in addition to the room controller and the electrothermal actuator, you also need a heating actuator for the heating control.

Okay, I had pretty much assumed that the actuator alone wouldn't be enough. I just want to get informed here before I talk to the electrician.
We had an initial consultation regarding KNX, although the electrician is probably not an absolute expert. For blinds/lights/heating, he quoted us around 22,000€.
You are probably right that we should consult a specialist. Until then, I would still like to know the alternative costs, so I can see if the price differs significantly.

How exactly do you plan to control the blinds now?
I’ll stay out of the heating control topic.
I chose GIRA E2 in anthracite – compared to the standard 55 series, it’s quite a bit more expensive. But there are much more extreme options available...
I can control the roller shutters centrally by floor, operate each roller shutter individually, have anti-lockout protection on the patio doors, a light sensor for shading, and even a timer based on astronomical data.
The equipment for the roller shutters cost 1000 euros (about 1100 USD), actually 500 euros (about 550 USD) more, but I got switches for the upper rooms on eBay Classifieds for 60 euros (about 65 USD).
