Hello,
I’m new here and not entirely sure if this is the right section of the forum.
We live in a house built in 1954. The house has been regularly renovated and updated, so its effective year of construction is 2009. Due to modifications by the previous owners, there is no heating directly in the open kitchen area. The fitted kitchen also does not allow for retrofitting a heating system. Therefore, we had the idea to provide the missing warmth on the exterior wall and in the kitchen with an infrared heater that also serves as a “splash guard” near the stovetop. The device we have chosen is: VASNER Citara T Infrared Panel Heater 700 Watts

Now, I have questions about the installation. Vasner specifies that there must be a clearance of at least 10 cm (4 inches) on all sides during installation. That would not be possible with the range hood and the countertop. Since the range hood is completely made of metal, I don’t see an issue there. However, the countertop is not metal. Therefore, I have thought of two possible solutions and would like to hear your opinions on them:

1. Raise the range hood by 20 cm (8 inches), which might affect its performance.
2. Cover the “contact area,” approximately 7 cm (3 inches) from the wall to the induction cooktop, with metal to “absorb” the heat.

Because the heater mainly serves to prevent mold, it will not run continuously but will turn on only when the wall temperature falls below 16°C (61°F). This will be controlled via a smart plug.

These are my ideas so far. I look forward to your constructive suggestions.

Best regards
