My toilet cistern is continuously leaking water. Although it’s only a small amount, it drips constantly around the clock. I have now removed the cover plate from the cistern (brand: Geberit), but honestly, I’m not sure what to do next. What steps do I need to take to reseal the system? Do I need to call a professional plumber for something like this?

This has also happened before, where the toilet flush was leaking. Several liters (liters) of water were lost. In our case, the seal failed, allowing the water to flow away unchecked.

Hi,

I just experienced the same issue. It’s really frustrating when a toilet keeps running constantly. In my case, the fill valve was leaking. I replaced the seal and cleaned the entire valve thoroughly. That worked well, and now everything is sealed properly again.

All the best

That is quite frustrating, and it happened to me while my husband was on a business trip. But I took matters into my own hands and searched online, where I found several videos. They helped me understand the issue, and I was able to identify the problem. The cause was a worn-out seal, which I replaced myself.

I have the same problem, but I’m not sure if it’s the cistern or a seal on the pipe that’s broken. I guess I’ll have to start troubleshooting. Or maybe just buy a new toilet. 😕

Hello,

Well, those who have, can. Buying a new toilet because of a faulty seal? What a waste of money, often the issues can be fixed with just a few simple steps. Of course, troubleshooting is done first.

Good luck.
