Hello everyone,
We plan to start building our house in spring 2019. Is it advisable to begin the planning process now?
We already have a plot of land, but it still needs to be transferred to my name and re-measured. (As it is currently registered, it is too small, and we need to acquire a few meters from our neighbor’s property.)

Do you have any book recommendations I could start reading already?
Apparently, the plot situation is getting a bit more complicated than expected....
Certainly: "I Think the Tiler Is Dead!" by Julia Karnick
And the film: "Once in a Lifetime – The Story of a House Build" by the Semmeling Family, directed by Dieter Wedel – an absolute must-watch!

"I think the tiler is dead," a humorous way to prepare. Helps to take many things in construction a bit more lightly.Oh, you were faster

Users with specific questions keep appearing, and it often becomes clear that the basics are not well understood (for example, who actually has a contract with whom and about what). As a client, you don’t need to understand every detail, but you definitely must have a rough overview muss.
I can’t comment on the specific titles... I borrowed two or three from the library and skimmed through everything (and have since forgotten much of it).
