Are you protecting the real tree from dust? Or do you mean the rest of the year, when it’s stored in the attic? It’s kept in the box it was delivered in.

For the rest of the year.
I thought it would be stored fully decorated.

No, of course not. It’s just an artificial tree. The rest still applies. So, setting it up, decorating, and so on.
Real trees are usually kept and transported in netting as well.

I only know one person who had an artificial tree. They took a string of lights from the power outlet and placed the tree in the attic.

We will probably have the last tree this year. Next year, there will only be a large vase with branches.
