Hello everyone,

There seems to be a huge variety of software available for generating bills of quantities. Which programs would you recommend for a simple single-family house?

Looking forward to your tips,

Regards, Alex

By the way, my research so far has been quite extensive in many respects... You are definitely taken much more seriously in the commercial sector... (for everyone who has been dismissed by the two experts more than once...)

And actually, the reason for this thread was to get recommendations on this topic...
Well, you asked for a recommendation for a layperson who has no knowledge in the field of tendering. You shouldn’t be surprised if the answer is "there is no recommended software for laypeople who have no understanding."

That may be true.

However, if you have an architect who has to review the tenders anyway (which ultimately means they could do the same work themselves with the same effort), then while it is commendable to familiarize yourself with the subject, the work should be done by professionals. In the long run, this actually saves money, even if you have to pay the expert upfront.

There are always the same skeptics...

But you're not by any chance the one asking for a net 2,300, 450,000 loan, are you?

These are not skeptics but people who want to warn you and/or really know better... But the 450,000 euro man didn’t understand that either...

With us, it’s quite straightforward – we request a quote (often including a personal meeting to discuss exactly what we want), remove all prices, and then forward it as an inquiry along with the relevant information (building folder, etc.).

And yes, I know about the “digital blockers”; for me, this happens when I recommend "Sweet Home 3D" for creating the floor plan.

Best regards

Yeah, yeah... the 'digital shutdowners'...

A local shell builder recommends ORCA... I’ll do some research...

Ask the architect to provide an (Excel) template for the relevant trades.
