I have started the project of installing a solar system for our house. We have a flat roof, and the solar expert estimated that about 6 kW of panels could fit, which would be sufficient according to his calculations. We could use 5-6 kWh of the generated energy ourselves since we have household electricity needs as well as a hot tub and sauna.
The problem he sees is that there are 2 owners. Normally, the 6 kW system would have to be divided into two 3 kW parts, with separate storage and meters.
A question for the experts: how can a system be installed and the energy consumption split between the two units?

Because there are fundamental differences in how this can be handled depending on the situation...

A question for the experts on how to set up a system and split the consumption per unitFor a small system, I wouldn’t split it at all. Replace the old “normal” meter with a bi-directional meter instead. Splitting the system is expensive and not cost-effective (then you have two separate systems with all associated equipment). Selling electricity to the second party is also complicated (billing, taxes, etc.).
For further questions, please refer to the frequently mentioned photovoltaic forum whose name cannot be mentioned here. But if you combine photovoltaic, forum, and com, you should be able to find it.

It can actually be split quite easily. Two inverters and you’re done, doesn’t cost much more.= suitable sizing for 2 small photovoltaic systems? = selling to third parties and feeding the rest into the grid?
= how to calculate self-consumption and third party consumption for tax purposes?
= two times commercial use?
etc.
