schrauberine15 Dec 2010 07:53I need electrical outlets in the work area, preferably on or under the countertop. But how?
For example, there are these pop-up units from Evoline, which are almost too large for the size of my work surface and take up too much of the already limited space.
Does anyone have suggestions for other solutions – I’ve run out of ideas.

kadi_713828 Dec 2010 13:23I don’t fully understand it either.
To install electrical outlets, you need to connect them to the entire electrical circuit, so you will need an electrician for that!
Additionally, you will of course need to lay cables, which requires chases in the wall, meaning you also need a craftsman with a wall chaser.
Or are we misunderstanding something here?

schrauberine29 Dec 2010 23:01My solution was to install flat pop-up sockets recessed into the edge of the countertop. While this is not as visually appealing as the Evoline units, it saves space and is considerably more affordable.
An electrician shouldn’t be necessary for this, as the sockets are connected to the house wiring via plug connectors underneath the countertop.

Maverick185430 Dec 2010 10:39I think mounting power outlets directly on the countertop is very dangerous.
Just imagine spilling a glass of water and you could (but not necessarily will) cause an electrical fire. Before considering ideas like that, I would first check with the landlord or my home insurance provider.
Could it be that you’re a bit suicidal? Or do you need insurance money? 😀 😀 😀
