Hello User,

what do you think about sliding doors? I imagine they could save a lot of space. Or is that mistaken? What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks for your opinion

Please set up the kitchen/living area with the fireplace corner and the short wall sections, so we can focus more specifically on the options available for you.

We have almost exclusively sliding doors in our prefabricated house and appreciate them very much. They allowed us to design the rooms more flexibly.

How should this be understood more flexibly? An outside-mounted sliding door, for example, actually restricts even more, doesn’t it?

I’m currently looking for a glass sliding door - the prices some people ask for are quite shocking...

Double-leaf, 2x2.30m (7.5x7.5 ft) – not standard, but some want nearly 3500 euros...

With inward-opening sliding doors, it is more flexible.

Hey, I’m bringing up this old topic again because it fits well with my current question.
We are currently considering whether to install a sliding door between the kitchen-dining area and the living room. However, it would only be possible as an external sliding door.
I’m hesitant partly because of the cost, but mainly due to concerns about sound and odor insulation. A “regular” door would provide a certain level of separation, allowing you to retreat to the living room even when things are busy in the kitchen.
How is it with a sliding door? Can anyone share their personal experiences?

I can highly recommend it; it saves a lot of space.
