ᐅ Shower has a strange odor (new installation, not yet in use)

Two weeks ago, I bought a shower enclosure at a home improvement store and had it installed by a plumber. The shower enclosure is the store’s own brand, which usually offers good value for money. Unfortunately, it is still emitting an unpleasant odor, a sort of “cheap plastic” smell. We hope this will improve, but we are wondering how many weeks or months this might take.

Has anyone had similar experiences? Also, is there any way to speed up the off-gassing process? (The window is always open when we are home).

Once the first few hundred liters (about 80 gallons) of water have flowed through, it will likely improve.

A new car also has a strong and "unpleasant" smell. However, it is manageable.
