Hello,

Since I have always received very good advice and help here, I wanted to ask you again.
The two-family house has been (soon) purchased, and a bathroom is due for renovation.
Unfortunately, the shower cannot be made larger because of the adjacent bathtub.

For this reason, a similar shower enclosure as it currently is would need to be installed there.
Does this type have a specific name?

It’s a bit difficult to explain. The side facing the bathtub ends at the top of the tub, and the second part extends to the shower tray. Therefore, I am attaching a photo.

Maybe someone has a tip.

Best regards

Bathroom with glass shower enclosure next to the bathtub, towels on the tub edge.

This installation situation has been quite common or still is. Take a look under "shower enclosure with shortened side panel." It can be custom-made by many suppliers.

Great, thank you very much. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees.
Let's see if it’s possible to build it in a way that allows using a "standard size" without needing custom fabrication.

Years ago, we bought an affordable swing door online. We got the shortened glass panel from Sprinz with a connecting strip. I don't remember the exact price, but it wasn't expensive, and my husband was able to install it himself.

The question is, how extensive do you want the renovation to be?

Completely gutting and starting fresh certainly offers more possibilities than simply removing the old bathroom and installing a new one.

Would you like to share more details about the project, upload additional pictures and the floor plan? (Unfortunately, I can’t offer bathroom design advice, but I always enjoy reading along to learn 🙂)

I will try to create a floor plan on the computer tomorrow, as it’s difficult to do on my phone. Basically, the entire bathroom is going to be renovated. So, tiles will be removed and the sanitary fixtures replaced. We might reuse the old bathtub. The shower tray should be shallower than it is now.

However, this can (or rather the plumber can) probably only be decided once the old bathtub is removed, since it is a timber frame house, located on the first floor.

For cost reasons, the pipes should be replaced as little as possible, so basically no new room layout.
