Hello
I want to buy an open Pax wardrobe with a length of 3m (10 feet) as a walk-in closet.
Since I am about 3cm (1 inch) short in ceiling height, I thought about having the side panels shortened (by a carpenter) and placing the wardrobes directly on the floor without a base.
Does anyone have an opinion on this?
I would really appreciate any tips.

If a carpenter does this, there is no objection. What is important is that the stability originally provided by the base is rebuilt elsewhere. For example, on the floor slab inside the cabinet. However, wouldn’t it be easier to shorten the side panels and create new holes for the base? This way, only the side panels and the back panel would be shortened. This should be the simplest and safest option.
