Hello everyone,

Since we have now decided on a vinyl flooring, the next step is to choose which type.

Can anyone advise what kind of vinyl flooring is recommended for a new build with underfloor heating? I haven’t been able to find a clear answer.
(It will be installed in the hallway, kitchen, living room, and guest room.)

The options are all click systems:
Vinyl with HDF (high-density fiberboard) core → thickness 9.6mm (0.38 inches)
Vinyl full vinyl (solid vinyl) → thickness 5mm (0.2 inches)
Design vinyl with CERAMIN® core material → thickness 4.5mm (0.18 inches)

I need to decide as soon as possible since the screed will be poured soon and I have to fix the finished floor level.

Thanks for any help.

And this exact statement would make me very suspicious...

It is not accurate to generalize that new floors tend to be relatively flat.

Normally, floors should always be skim-coated, although liquid screed is usually already quite level.

I believe our floor installer is speaking from experience. We will see how it goes in our case and what still needs to be done to ensure the floor can be properly installed...

So, what are your experiences? We are also considering installing vinyl flooring in our new build and would appreciate any feedback.
We have come across the Kronos Xonic and find it perfect, but unfortunately, there are no reviews or tests available that confirm the promising specifications.

Thanks in advance.

For building biology reasons alone, I wouldn’t bring a vinyl floor into the house...

Prefer clay soil or something else?
