Hello everyone,
we are currently finalizing the selection for our bathroom fixtures and are still undecided about the washbasin. We had initially chosen the Scalido WTSC65WS washbasin based on its appearance, without knowing the price. Our plumber then commented, "you might as well buy a washbasin from the hardware store." Well, Scalido seems to be a relatively new brand—I couldn’t find much information about it—and the price at just under 170€ (about $185) is definitely on the low end. However, compared to the washbasin from Laufen, which costs about four times as much, we simply prefer the look of the Scalido.
Has anyone had experience with Scalido? How big of a risk am I taking with the cheaper washbasin? If necessary, I’m prepared to consider it a learning expense of 170€ (about $185).

If you like the look, go ahead and use it.
I got the washbasins myself. It's not as messy as installing a toilet, but it can still be quite fiddly.
We couldn’t use the desired push-to-open valves because with the trap, it was no longer possible to have the proper slope for the drain. The overflow on one side seems to be leaking again. And Ikea’s drain fittings are a bit unusual...
In hindsight, for about 500 EUR more, I probably could have had the plumber do everything and would have had less stress.

We had issues with this in our previous house because we didn’t like anything in the showroom, and buying the washbasins ourselves meant the plumber wouldn’t install them due to warranty reasons.
We then searched for a long time until we found someone who would install everything for us.
Luckily, with the new house, we don’t have that problem. Here, we are allowed to choose ourselves and even order online. The planned costs for the items will be credited to us, but the plumber from our builder will still do the installation.
He said we will have the items delivered directly to the construction site and check them together to make sure nothing is damaged (since we would otherwise have to complain), and then everything will be fine.
