Hello,

Baier offers roof window shutters for various roof window manufacturers (Roto, Velux, Fakro). Does anyone have experience with this company's products? How do their shutters compare to the original accessories?

With Velux and Fakro, I find it annoying that they only want to sell shutters with a proprietary radio control system.

You don’t have to go for that – I also have Velux windows and they’re wired, not wireless.

I have read that the current Velux roller shutter motors cannot be activated if connected directly. The risk seems too high for me.

Then you must have read it wrong.

That's right, I misread that: The motors no longer operate without the Velux control system once it has been connected. Unless you perform a reset with the control system. However, the reset no longer works from the 2016 models onwards.
Also, you should not operate different motors on one power supply, as they will enter learning mode, and then it's game over again.

Also not correct – the motors are basic and are just standard 24V motors.

You are right about the control unit itself – if you buy it from them.

I simply had a transformer with a changeover relay installed, which is then controlled by my roller shutter switches.

It cost just under 40 euros per window.
