Hello everyone!

We are getting a cooperative apartment under a rent-to-own model, which is still being built. This means we can have some say in certain things. Although the underground parking garage hasn’t even been poured yet, we have already received a letter from the company supplying the roller shutters. We now have the option to buy insect screens built into the roller shutters. Now my question to you:

Do you have something like this?
Is it practical?
Are they effective at sealing out insects?
Any experiences?

I have already searched online and they look quite practical and attractive. We definitely need insect screens anyway, as there are unfortunately a lot of mosquitoes where we live. But we don’t want to buy something that doesn’t work.

Best regards, Clovi

I would base that on how easily they can be replaced in case of a defect. Personally, I prefer an independent system that is installed within the window recess. I have a system from Insetto.
You can configure and choose options there.

Our roller shutter box allows for direct installation of insect screen blinds inside the box itself... these are positioned between the window and the roller shutters... maybe it is the same kind of system...

I don’t have one, but it would definitely be helpful. However, if I had a ventilation system, I probably wouldn’t need one, since you wouldn’t open any windows then (would you?).
