we want to plaster parts of the walls in our children's room instead of using wallpaper. We have already removed the old wallpaper (which had some slight mold spots), but unfortunately, part of the wall surface came off with it. Now I wonder if we need to do any repairs before applying the plaster. We bought multipurpose plaster from OBI. I also took some pictures of the wall. Additionally, to prevent mold growth, I plan to apply a mold-blocking primer before putting on the multipurpose plaster. Can someone tell me if this is the right approach or if it doesn’t make sense? We also have ready-made filler, but that probably isn’t ideal for filling these damaged areas, is it?

Hello, first of all. You wrote that you want to apply plaster? The plaster is already there. Do you want to renovate it? Why? There is no mold visible in the pictures. With the components shown, you certainly can’t go wrong, but what exactly do you want to achieve?

Since this is going to be a nursery for our baby, the mold obviously needs to be removed. We want to apply a textured plaster finish to the wall instead of putting up new wallpaper. We already have this in our living room. However, I’m not sure if the multi-purpose plaster will adhere properly without a "new" primer or something similar. Here is a photo of the living room wall – it should look something like this. Also, no consultations are currently offered at the hardware store.

I’m not very familiar with the topic being discussed, but have you really thought this through about using textured plaster in the children’s room? When I think about how often my little one (1.5 years) has bumped into the wall while playing, I don’t even want to imagine what the bruises would look like on a textured plaster wall.
This is just a suggestion, not a criticism.
