Hello,
I don’t believe such a system is absolutely necessary, or rather, I haven’t yet seen the significant benefits it offers. I prefer to simply open the window. What are the advantages of a ventilation and exhaust system, and what might be the drawbacks?

Well, at first, I don’t need to ventilate. That’s why the house won’t get damaged. So theoretically, zero.Yes, you do need to ventilate, otherwise it will get damaged.
If you don’t, you will have issues with moisture and eventually mold.
I fully understand if someone doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a ventilation system.
However, what I really don’t understand is how anyone can want or be fine without any mechanical ventilation at all. For me, that’s no longer about comfort when I come home and the place smells stale.
That’s exactly what happens if no ventilation takes place. The opponents of ventilation can say whatever they want, but I’ve had enough opposite experiences to know better.
And @Nordlys has already shown that a simple ventilation solution doesn’t have to be expensive.
But it’s not really surprising that the biggest resistance here comes from someone who also despises microwaves…
Even Grym can find something positive to say about a controlled residential ventilation system, and he’s usually quite skeptical about many things.

If you don’t ventilate, you will have moisture problems and eventually mold.Nonsense. This clearly shows the influence of lobbying and its results. What kind of moisture is he talking about? For us, everything is completely dry everywhere.
Kaho674, I invite you to my place.
Our house was built around 2000. Like some other homes from that period, it is quite airtight. However, not much thought was given to ventilation back then. As a result, in winter mornings, you end up waving to the neighbors while opening the windows to air out the rooms. No lobby effect. Just see for yourself. Manual ventilation simply isn’t enough.
