Hello everyone,

we have a prefabricated house (timber frame construction) and need to run a cable from outside to inside through the exterior wall.

Has anyone done this before? What should be considered? Or is it better not to do it? Do you need a special drill bit to avoid the insulation wrapping around the drill?

The hole would be about 1 cm (0.4 inches) in diameter.

Thank you very much and best regards,

You will then need to make sure the hole is completely sealed afterward; otherwise, structural damage is almost inevitable. However, the insulation will likely allow the drill to pass through anyway...
