As a beginner, I wanted to gather some information from you and thank you in advance for your many tips.
I want to replaster the garden wall. The wall is exposed to rain, wind, and weather.
After removing the loose plaster, I have the following questions:
1. What should I use to plaster the wall? Mortar, renovation plaster, lime plaster, etc.?
2. Do I need a bonding primer before plastering?
3. What should I do about the curved part? I have seen that only square wall coverings are available.
4. At the base, I wanted to install a protective board or something similar. Does that make sense? As a protective edge or so. I also want to extend the small rose bed continuously because I plan to plant ivy.
5. I would like to avoid decorative plaster as much as possible since I want to cover the wall with ivy. Do I still need to apply decorative plaster after plastering the wall?
Please keep in mind that I am a complete beginner but eager to try this kind of project.
I’m really looking forward to it.
Thank you very much.

I am also an amateur, but I have an idea. First, knock off the old material if it is loose. Then apply a base coat with waterproofing slurry twice. After that, spray mortar onto the wall using a brush to fling it on, let it dry, and then plaster it with mortar. Possibly paint it afterwards.
