Fellmann-125 Nov 2009 17:31Hello everyone
We are planning to create a paved area in front of our house.
Question: How much do professionals typically charge on average per square meter (square yard) just for the labor? Does it depend on the type of paving (natural stone slabs or square pavers)?
If anyone has experience with this, I would be very grateful, as I have no idea :S
Thanks in advance

MODERATOR30 Nov 2009 12:36Hello,
I could provide prices in EURO, but since I don’t have material and labor cost data for Switzerland, such pricing information would not be very meaningful.
There are also many options for paving.
Materials include: concrete pavers in gray or colored, interlocking paving, small cobbles, slabs; chamfered or broken edges… natural stone slabs, cobblestones.
Usage: pedestrian only, suitable for passenger cars, suitable for trucks (garbage truck, moving van).
Permeable surface or water-draining.
The best approach would be to consult with a tradesperson; discuss materials and usage with them and ask for a quote.

Hello,
I will continue this topic.
We also had this done last year, and did some of it ourselves. We bought the stones from bernasconie. We also had different types of paving stones installed.
The price ranged between 180 to 200 CHF per sqm (square meter).
I think that was a good price.

Hi,
I have this job coming up as well. I recently visited the company Guber, and they have a good selection of paving stones. They also operate their own quarry. Prices start at around 690 CHF per ton, which covers approximately 10.5 sq m (113 sq ft) of paving. This results in a price of 3.95 CHF per sq m (0.37 sq ft).

Urs1988-11 May 2015 17:24I am familiar with Guber paving stones and have already covered several areas with them. These paving stones are of good quality and easy to install. Definitely recommended.
