Hello!

We are about to decide whether to glue down the parquet flooring or install it as a floating floor. Gluing was recommended to us (the floor is quieter, better heat conduction with underfloor heating, easier sanding, etc.).
However, we are leaning more towards floating installation (it can be replaced later, installation should be easier). We also have some concerns about the adhesive in the bedroom.

How did you do it, or what are your experiences?

Thanks!

This is currently a hot topic for us, and I would definitely prefer adhesive bonding. It is much quieter, provides better heat conduction, and replacing it at some point is not a valid argument. You can also remove it effectively with the right solvents. There are really good solvent-free adhesive options available...

I would also tend to go with gluing.
And roughly 25-30 euros for the material price is definitely possible.
Sure, there’s probably only 4mm (1.6 inches) of good wood on top, but you can sand it twice as well.
You only do that once every 10 years, and after 20 years the look won’t matter much to you anyway.
The quality of the samples I had for that price was consistently good.
But now it’s going to be vinyl after all [emoji853]

No offense, but a 4mm (0.16 inch) wear layer can at best be sanded once. Especially since sanding and reapplying oil or sealant can cost more than the material itself. There's no sugarcoating that.

Glued floors have to be scored, chiseled out, and then the adhesive sanded off. A lot of work and mess.

Better to just go for a proper covering right from the start!
