Hello everyone,
Our house is now built and we have already moved in. Most of the flooring is installed except in the laundry room.
I have been looking into and considering the options for the laundry room:
1. Painting with concrete/cement paint
2. Sealing with two-component epoxy resin
3. Having tiles installed.
Since the budget is quite tight and the laundry room has a ceiling height of only 218 cm (7 ft 2 in), we were thinking about painting or sealing.
I asked the builder and he would charge 600€ to paint 30 m² (320 ft²) with cement paint. That seems a bit high to me, but we don’t have much experience in this area.
My question is, is that price reasonable? Which option would you recommend?
Is it possible for a layperson to carry out the work themselves? What would be appropriate prices for option 1 and 2?
The screed in the laundry room is cement screed with a vapor barrier below.
Thank you very much.

We will be doing the work ourselves. We plan to paint the prefabricated garage floor and the basement screed directly. Would you choose a single-component paint, for example the mentioned "Wilckens garage floor paint," or would you go for a two-component epoxy product?
Do you have any product recommendations for us?
Thank you very much.

One quick question, since I hope to start painting next week when the screed is dry enough. Did you also paint a skirting, about 5 - 10cm (2 - 4 inches) up the wall, or just the floor and the wall with regular wall paint?

We have now been living in the house for about 6 months, and the finish on the screed from a single room is incredible. I’m thinking of painting the basement floor with a single-component coating and the garage floor with a two-component one. Does anyone have tips for good paints or products?
Best regards
