sauerpeter2 Aug 2017 09:40Hello everyone,
we may have made a big mistake... When we talked to the site manager about our outdoor faucet, we were always clear that we did not want a “hole” through the house wall and rejected an outdoor faucet mounted on the house. Garden irrigation is supposed to be done via a cistern or a well. Since the groundwater is at about 40m (130 ft), the costs still need to be planned.
Anyway, the point is that we completely overlooked the fact that we could place the outdoor faucet on the back side of the garage. Hmmm, today the foundation slab is being poured, and yesterday the strip footings were made... I couldn’t reach our site manager yesterday evening, but I sent a text message. So far no response, and I can’t reach him by phone either.
Do we still have a chance to get an outdoor faucet? Or can I run a line from the house’s main water distribution past the house and then connect it to a so-called tapping point so that I have an outdoor faucet that is completely separate from the house?
Damn... you just don’t think of everything.
We thought of so many things, but not this...

In our case, the pipe for the outdoor tap was laid on the foundation slab, just like all the other water pipes. Therefore, I don’t see any problems with that initially.
Edit: Of course, our pipe then went through the wall to the outside, where a frost-proof tap was installed and insulated. Inside, it was plastered over as usual.
Another edit: I probably replied too quickly. After reading multiple times, I still don’t understand what kind of tap is supposed to be installed where and how exactly.

Without knowing the details of your house, there may still be options available.
If your house is a solid construction, it is, of course, possible to chisel the cables into the wall.
For a timber frame house, it would be possible to lay the garden cable on the floor alongside other cables and lines, and then pour the screed over it.

sauerpeter2 Aug 2017 10:31Yes, it is solid construction. As mentioned, the walls have not been built yet. Today, the concrete slab will be poured. The garage slab is still planned to be poured together with the house slab. Since the water tap is supposed to be on the back wall of the garage, I still have some hope that everything will work out and it can still be done.
