Hey,

if I want to get network sockets, is there anything special I should pay attention to?

On the large marketplace with 4 letters, the price per piece starts at a few euros.

What is the difference between a 6€ socket, a 15€ socket, or something in between? I also saw that there are sockets where you punch down the cable directly in the module, and others where you connect the cable to a keystone insert, which is then slid into the module...

Thanks!

Yes, Cat 6 is usually sufficient, but you should make sure to choose the right switch system.

I sometimes see Cat 6a mentioned. In the end, I’m only ordering the insert. Or, if it says that it is compatible with Jung, Busch & Jäger, can I consider that a safe choice?

There are basically two versions. One is laying cables onto LSA insulation displacement connectors, and the other version is Keystone. So far, I have only worked with LSA, but depending on space conditions, it can be quite stressful. Next time I have a project, I will only use Keystone. With Keystone, you need to make sure it fits into the flush-mounted box.

Please don’t buy the cheapest boxes; choose at least mid-range quality. Try searching for "Kabelscheune" on a major search engine. I find they offer pretty decent products at reasonable prices.

From my experience, the budget options for household use as CAT6 / CAT7 cables are completely sufficient. Branded products are more expensive than necessary, as they sell their design and make a profit with specialty items.

Is it possible to use the same frame for both the power outlet and the network socket and then simply add the appropriate central cover, or are these completely different frames?
