Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Ikea Metod drawers. They close properly, but often make unpleasant, sometimes loud noises when closing and the movement isn’t very smooth. I would like to use simple and inexpensive methods to make the drawer closing both quieter and smoother without upgrading to complex or expensive dampers. Does anyone have tips or experience with easy-to-install solutions that can achieve this? I would appreciate practical ideas that work with minimal effort and preferably without special tools.

Hello, I would like to add that the correct adjustment of the drawer fronts also affects how they close. If the front is not aligned parallel to the cabinet body, it can cause extra noise. It is recommended to adjust the height and depth of the front accordingly. Additionally, avoiding overloading the drawers helps them slide and close more smoothly.

Another option is rubber or silicone buffers, which you can attach under the drawer base or along the drawer edges. They absorb energy when closing and prevent loud noises. Simply screw or stick them on; they fit well without much effort.
