Dear all,
I had to buy a new countertop and now I forgot how to seal the sink properly. Should I use a sealing tape, adhesive, or just silicone as a continuous bead?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Best regards,
Andreas

Hello,

A sealing tape is being used here. It can’t hurt to replace it. You should be able to get it through customer service.

Hello Andreas,

When you unpack the sink, you will find a gray, strongly self-adhesive rubber strip included, which is attached to the edge of the underside. This strip secures the sink firmly to the countertop and seals it.

For the cutout, place the sink upside down on the countertop with the "good" side down, trace around the outside, and then reduce the traced outer dimension by 1 cm (0.4 inches) all around.

Additionally, there are clamps included that are screwed to the edge of the countertop cutout and hooked onto the edge of the sink beforehand. These clamps hold the countertop securely at the edge.

I also applied aluminum tape to the edge of my wooden countertop cutout. You can seal the edge with silicone if you wish. However, this is not strictly necessary as the sink is delivered.

All of this is explained clearly in the instructions.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
