ᐅ Installing a Photovoltaic System with an Air-to-Water Heat Pump?

Hello everyone,

We recently purchased a house from the developer, and the selection appointment is coming up soon.
Basically, we plan to stick mostly to the "standard" options due to our budget.
The house is equipped with an air-to-water heat pump. In the special requests catalog, there is a photovoltaic system listed for 10kW.

As a layperson, I have the following questions:

- Should we have it installed? Will our electricity then be free in the future?
- How are these systems subsidized or supported?
- Does it make sense to install one?

Thanks in advance for your help.

@Deliverer

How many households do you supply with your electricity consumption? 🙂
Schmitz can only use the air conditioning units for heating through the battery storage.
However, the sun also needs to contribute during the winter months and at night...

One. Small electric car (20 km/day [12 miles/day]), large heat pump (5000 kWh/year). Altogether, a bit over 10,000 kWh per year.

Of course, many use less, but they often also have a smaller roof. It simply doesn’t make sense to stop installing panels just because the roof is nearly full when someone is already climbing up, the electrician is there, and the inverter and smart meter have to be purchased anyway. You also want to charge your car in winter and, above all, heat your home.

By the way, I consume about 500 kWh per month of self-generated electricity for almost the entire year. Try doing that with a 5 kWp system in winter.

Edit: A small addition. I also have a double garage with a pitched roof, where I will install an additional 15 kWp. And THAT will really only be for peace of mind and the kids. So, sure, there are sweet spots somewhere. But for almost no one are they reached before the roof is fully covered.

How and why is that? I must have missed the video.

However, new funding programs are expected for Easter, so it remains to be seen whether photovoltaic systems and storage will at least be explicitly included in the support for house construction.
The Photovoltaic Magazine published an article titled "Renewable Energy Act Easter Package Brings No Improvement for Standard Photovoltaic Rooftop Systems" on March 29 discussing this issue. According to the article, a complete draft is already available and there will be no changes, except for the already known slower reduction of feed-in tariffs.
