After reading for a while, I finally registered today.
My name is Jörg, originally from Thuringia, but I now live in Fürth.
We plan to build a townhouse and a large garage in the spring. The townhouse will be delivered turnkey by the general contractor. Additionally, the contractor will handle the permit planning for the garage. The garage will have dimensions of 6 m x 9 m x 3.5 m (20 ft x 30 ft x 11.5 ft) and these measurements have already been coordinated with the building authority.
The garage will be built through subcontractors and a mason master friend as self-performed work.
Question: What tasks need to be completed before obtaining the building permit and starting construction?
I have already created a detailed CAD drawing of the garage with my general contractor. Surely, a structural engineer will still have to calculate the garage?
Please share your independent opinion regarding the scope of work.
