Hello everyone,
at the IKEA store, I was told that the flexible IKEA 365 SÄNDA light rail system can easily be mounted on the wall. However, when unpacking it, I noticed that wall mounting is explicitly discouraged. Does anyone know why or has anyone had experience with wall mounting the IKEA 365 SÄNDA?
Many thanks

Thank you for your input, halbvier,
After about 4 days, the Swedish experts on corrugated metal walls 😀 have also responded to my email. If this is indeed the reason why the instructions explicitly advise against wall mounting, it actually comes alarmingly close to the situation in the US... like the saying: microwaves are not suitable for cats.
Here is their reply:
Thank you for your email.
The IKEA 365 SÄNDA item can only be mounted on the wall if you are not using a wall-mounted lamp, but rather spotlights or a lamp with a flexible neck.
Best regards,

That's obvious; all manuals say something like that so the company (whichever one) can protect themselves in advance or must do so.
By the way, the story about the cat in the microwave never actually happened—it's a hoax that has been around forever 🙂
The woman at Meckes with hot coffee, however, is true 🙂
You can screw anything to the wall! But the manufacturer won't recommend it in the manual if it’s not intended and completely safe.
So, if an employee says, "you can do that," you shouldn't expect to find it in the manual. The manual only contains legally safe information (or should).
